The U.S. Marine Corps required an assessment tool to measure the social support and resiliency of service members and their spouses. In their review of potential solutions, they discovered the Air Force’s system developed in partnership with Bowen and Colleagues and Flying Bridge.Dr. Gary Bowen and Dr. Jim Martin revised the Air Force assessments to better fit the Marine Corps family services, their culture, and priorities. Flying Bridge developed a new version of the assessment system, branding it as a Marine Corps system, and incorporating the changes to the assessments. Additional business rules were incorporated to better reflect how the Marine Corps family programs function.
The system not only provides web-based assessments but supports them via online training modules, reports for briefing leadership, intervention information, and more. Flying Bridge not only provided the web development necessary to make the system work as intended but also continues to support use by hosting the system, providing technical support, and providing web technology guidance on new initiatitves.
