The U.S. Air Force established a new model for supporting service members and their families. Within this model was a requirement to provide an assessment on the social support and resiliency of service members and their spouses. These assessments were to be used to brief unit commanders on the readiness of their personnel. It was envisioned to be a practice tool, utilized by Air Force professionals dedicated to providing assistance to service members and their families.Dr. Gary Bowen and Dr. Jim Martin have been providing consultation and assessments to the Air Force for over twenty years. In partnership with them, Flying Bridge developed an online assessment system with the surrounding tools necessary to support the field in use of the tool.
Specifically, the system provides a web interface for collecting data and managing respondent groups. Detailed reports and analysis are provided to prepare users for briefing unit commanders. In addition to the web development provided, Flying Bridge supports the system with hosting, consulting, technical support, and upgrade services. This system is a constant work-in-progress as the dynamics of military life, the operational tempo realized, and the mission of the Air Force continue to evolve and change.
