IRWIN

Flying Bridge developed a search & browse feature giving IRWIN customers the ability to find the products they are searching for by product specific keywords or to browse through all tools and products available in a category or subcategory. The detail page for each product displays a large photo and all product details and data. The detail page also allows customers to view the ratings and reviews on the tool by their fellow consumers and provides the option for customers to leave their own input. Flying Bridge also built an interactive map for customers in the U.S. and Canada to find the retail location closest to them by clicking on their state or province, or by entering their zip code to generate a list of retailers in their area.

Behind the scenes, Flying Bridge built IRWIN a content management system and administration area allowing them to manage each facet of the website. It includes a text editor and HTML source control so administrators can edit the static content on their site from the same place they manage products and other site features.

To make the website search engine friendly the site was integrated with Google Base via an XML feed to automatically update and publish all IRWIN products to Google Base. A custom URL system was put in place to allow IRWIN to create custom and attractive URLs for dynamic products. Images for each product are also optimized by unique name and available to Google's enhanced image search.
