We’re not template providers
We acknowledge the utility and cost savings of systems that allow you to pick a generic template, input your content, and choose a few ready-to-use features like a shopping cart, news feed, blog, or content manager. If such a system captures your business requirements and opportunities we’ll actually point you in that direction in the hopes that when your business requirements exceed this level of site, you’ll remember our objectivity, friendliness, and expertise. Then perhaps we’ll sit down together to understand your objectives, your branding, your constraints, your opportunities, and your internal capabilities and partners. We’ll come to understand your target audience(s). From there, we’ll map out a way to engage us to bring about the results intended, typically with many options that allow you to size the project appropriately. This planning process, leading to a proposal, is typically rich with value-added communications that, even without a project moving forward, will better equip you to pursue your mission.
What we build is for you
The nature of our business often requires confidentiality, non-compete agreements, unique support services, and ongoing communications and consulting beyond the initial project. Our designs, for websites and beyond, are built from the ground up for you. Our programming may be built upon our own code library but each feature of your site is tuned to your business rules. Need the site to integrate with accounting, inventory, another vendor’s software? Does the optimal purchasing process for what you sell have a unique flow or require a special set of business rules? This is the area of development where we are well versed. No two projects are ever the same. This reality is a big part of why we love what we do so much. Finally, consider the web design/development/marketing firm that specializes in a particular vertical market. Once they’ve built your site, what keeps them from topping it with their next project, perhaps a project for your biggest competitor? Are they so locked into your industry they fail to uncover the power of how a new feature or technology used elsewhere could be a key differentiator for your site? At Flying Bridge, we’d prefer to have our clients reach the pinnacle of their industry within the confines of what we do and then to keep you there, not compete against you with our next project.
