"We were planning on a re-development of our old site, which was basically just an online catalog," Beata continues. "We talked to several firms and saw concepts and plans, but the FBT concept was by far the most cutting edge, forward-thinking and offered the best technology of them all. We felt they mirrored the same qualities our customers expect from our company. It makes them a very good partner—a partner to grow into the future with us."
In thinking through their objectives, Element Design felt their biggest challenge in the development and design of the new site was how to reach three very different and distinct audience segments with one site.
The company doesn’t sell direct to consumer, but needed and wanted a site to create consumer interest.
Next, they wanted something that would inspire interior designers as well as architects.
They also wanted the site to be interactive and distributor-friendly, but had gone into the project thinking that portals and fairly complex functionality would be required to reach all their audience segments. Flying Bridge showed them how the site could be clean and simple—yet reach everyone and do everything they needed to meet their goals.
"We were so impressed with their layouts and clean design," Beata recalls. "The project process was incredibly simple, with a quick timeline that allowed Element Design to launch in time for our biggest trade show of the year—midnight calls and all!"
Many of the company’s distributors are now using the site as a sales tool. They find the site is organized effectively, making it easy to walk through with a prospective customer. In turn, those customers are using it with their customers.
Flying Bridge came in as a solutions partner, rebuilding and redesigning the Element site. Now the FBT team is also working with them on mapping out and improving their manufacturing process through the use of a fully integrated customized inventory, order systems and manufacturing system that FBT will build for them.
“Moving forward with Flying Bridge as our technology partner is a great example of how the web design/build process and business transformation work as two separate, yet integrated pieces,” Beata remarks.
“It’s [backroom processes and systems revamp] an 18-month project and they are two months in. They have spent so much time with us already working on our manufacturing, sales and marketing processes.”
