XOOM Energy

Aggressive timeline for a progressive company? Your goal is our goal.

As a progressive company providing simple, integrated electricity and natural gas energy solutions to homes and businesses across America, new kid on the block Xoom Energy needed a website at the speed of light. Wanting to create a presence in deregulated energy markets, they sought to introduce their audience to Xoom Energy as their go-to source for electricity and natural gas. Read More...

The Project

Referred by a friend of the young company’s CEO, the website search team interviewed Flying Bridge Technologies as one of five or six other web development companies they were considering. The tipping point? Flying Bridge was not afraid to take on their six-week timeline. The FBT team agreed that even within that timeframe, they could deliver 1) a dynamic site that was attractive and user-friendly, 2) Create an administrative content management system for changes the client would want to implement in the future and 3) Provide the ten XOOM sales channel partners the ability to have their own co-branded micro sites.

Jackie Whitman, Marketing Manager for the company, reports that Flying Bridge not only delivered everything within the timeframe, but also delivered with “flying colors.” She says that her company is constantly complimented on the look and simplicity of use on the site. “It’s a simple to use, 5-step customer enrollment process. And since the site launched, we have had 123,591 online enrollments with minimal problems.”

Jackie continues, “For the dollars we spent, we’ve gotten far more than we could have ever expected. Flying Bridge promised the timing and delivered not just a short-term web solution, but thought through a long-term solution. I would turn to them time and time again.”

“We consider Flying Bridge a continued solutions partner to work through any web-based technology applications we may have throughout the year.”

The goals met.  Site launched.

  1. Short, aggressive timeframe
  2. Need for co-branded micro sites for sales channel partners
  3. Easy-to use five-step enrollment process.
  4. Customized content management system that really is user-friendly

Element Designs

Need a web solutions partner that goes beyond a great website?

“We’re very, very happy with the site,” begins Beata Klecha, V.P. of Marketing at Element Design. Element Design is an international company, with sales in the U.S. coast to coast as well as in Canada and the Caribbean. Their manufacturing is completely located in Charlotte, NC. Read More...

The Project

"We were planning on a re-development of our old site, which was basically just an online catalog," Beata continues. "We talked to several firms and saw concepts and plans, but the FBT concept was by far the most cutting edge, forward-thinking and offered the best technology of them all. We felt they mirrored the same qualities our customers expect from our company. It makes them a very good partner—a partner to grow into the future with us."

In thinking through their objectives, Element Design felt their biggest challenge in the development and design of the new site was how to reach three very different and distinct audience segments with one site.

The company doesn’t sell direct to consumer, but needed and wanted a site to create consumer interest.

Next, they wanted something that would inspire interior designers as well as architects.

They also wanted the site to be interactive and distributor-friendly, but had gone into the project thinking that portals and fairly complex functionality would be required to reach all their audience segments. Flying Bridge showed them how the site could be clean and simple—yet reach everyone and do everything they needed to meet their goals.

"We were so impressed with their layouts and clean design," Beata recalls. "The project process was incredibly simple, with a quick timeline that allowed Element Design to launch in time for our biggest trade show of the year—midnight calls and all!"

Many of the company’s distributors are now using the site as a sales tool. They find the site is organized effectively, making it easy to walk through with a prospective customer. In turn, those customers are using it with their customers.
Flying Bridge came in as a solutions partner, rebuilding and redesigning the Element site. Now the FBT team is also working with them on mapping out and improving their manufacturing process through the use of a fully integrated customized inventory, order systems and manufacturing system that FBT will build for them.

“Moving forward with Flying Bridge as our technology partner is a great example of how the web design/build process and business transformation work as two separate, yet integrated pieces,” Beata remarks.

“It’s [backroom processes and systems revamp] an 18-month project and they are two months in. They have spent so much time with us already working on our manufacturing, sales and marketing processes.”

Integrated Technology Solutions

  1. Reaching different audience segments with one site
  2. Customized solutions for manufacturing, sales and marketing processes
  3. Fully integrated inventory, order and content management systems implementation.
